About

Hi! Welcome to Take Heart at Home!

A place to inspire and encourage you mainly in the realms of homeschooling and herbalism. Both subjects of which I am still a novice and learning daily from. I would love for you to come alongside and learn and grow with me.

If you would’ve told me that I would one day be a homeschool mum, I would’ve never believed you. God had other plans, and you know what? I absolutely love homeschooling. The curriculum. Watching my boys learn. Learning new things myself. Love it! Not that it is always easy because it is far from that hence Take Heart.

I’ve also started exploring the world of herbs, and it is incredible! Plants that God created; that you can grow in your own backyard; and that can positively impact your health. Amazing! I simply can’t believe some of the things I’ve been discovering. Yet, herbalism is vast and diverse, and to traverse it I definitely need to Take Heart or else I’d have given up by the overwhelmingness of it all.

Behind it all, the inspiration for Take Heart at Home is Psalms 27:13-14: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

Wow! I love it! And how true? “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” I often feel like I am losing heart. The weight of motherhood. The trials and uncertainties of homeschooling. The daily unrelenting grind. The many uncertainties and horrors going on in the world. Pressures all around pushing on me causing me to lose heart.

In my life, I have seen both the goodness of the Lord and the fallenness of a sin filled world. In it all, we are to take heart and “be of good courage”. How? How! As the 1st verse of Psalms 27 says, “The LORD is my light and my salvation.” The Lord is my light. He is my salvation. And because of that, I can take heart. I can be of good courage. It is my delight to be able through Take Heart to share it with you too.

If you’ve never heard of salvation or what is, I’d love to share what the Bible says. In the beginning God created a perfect world. But through a choice of disobedience, the world became cursed; sin passing down to each and everyone of us. Sin separates us from God Who is holy and righteous. Yet, God in His great love and compassion sent His only beloved Son Jesus to die on the cross. Why? To cover our sins so that we could be reconciled to Him. Salvation comes when we believe in God and confess our sins. What amazing grace! Salvation. To be saved. What hope, peace, and courage! All praise to God!

Through Take Heart at Home, I hope you leave here inspired and encouraged. That homeschooling becomes less daunting and more enjoyable. That through my herbal experimenting you might try it yourself. That you know that God loves you very much!

Thanks for stopping by,

-Julie
